Every year at the end of August in Finalborgo there is a famous historical re-enactment called “Viaggio nel Medioevo” ("Journey into the Middle Ages”): it is a very special event in which the village goes back to its past with ancient crafts, medieval games, old recipes.

Centro Storico del Finale is the local association which every year organizes this event, consisting mainly of a historical re-enactment that commemorates the re-conquest of the village after the war against the Republic of Genoa in 1452. For four nights, it is possible to live a medieval atmosphere, strolling through fields of arms and surrounded by people dressed with medieval clothing. Finalborgo becomes for four days a medieval village. It is possible to taste medieval recipes and flavours in the many banquets present in the streets and the Locanda dei Cavalieri (Knights' Inn) in the splendid Cloisters of Santa Caterina.
