Cave of Manie
Arma delle Mànie is one of the largest caves of the Finale area. Located on the plateau of Le Manie, facing south about 250 m above sea level, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, it is easily accessible through a paved road that branches off the main road.
Excavations conducted in it since the 1960's have unearthed artifacts that testify the human presence in the cave since prehistoric times, mainly attributable to the Man of Neanderthal (70 thousand years ago). Such finds are placed in the Archaeological Museum of Finale, Finalborgo, and the Civic Museum of Ligurian Archaeology - Villa Durazzo-Pallavicini in Genoa Pegli.
The cave has for centuries been used by local farmers as a stable and mill and some interesting finds of the local material culture are still present in it. L'Arma delle Mànie is an Archaeological Site of National Interest.
