Cave of cherry trees
Not far from Arma delle Manie, the Grotta dei Ciliegi (Cave of cherry trees) is reached by a short branch of the path that leads to the Val Ponci. The site is located under a large shelter in the rock, slightly elevated on a dry stone wall, and is formed on the left by a small and charming cave with a rounded mouth and on the right by an archaeological site, protected by railings.
In the 90 it was carried out a campaign of excavations that unearthed many artifacts dating from the Neolithic. The shelter hosted a workshop for the production of terracotta artifacts, as it emerged from the analysis of the findings and the stratigraphy of the land contained in a large hollow created by water led into a sinkhole, as the karst nature of the territory.
