St. Cipriano's Church
Surrounded by olive trees, on the heights at Calvisio Vecchia, stands the Church of San Cipriano, one of the oldest in the Finale, which probably rose on a Roman vicus. Before its transformation following the Baroque style (1704), it was probably a church with a nave and two aisles which was rebuilt in the 14th century. The bell tower is remarkable: in perfect Romanesque style, well preserved, it is one of the most ancient in Finale, dating back to the early 13th century.
The big church is completely abandoned, but from the door you can see interiors and archaeological excavations that have revealed the layering of the various buildings. From the churchyard you can enjoy a panoramic view of Finalpia to the sea.
