Stone of Finale and Monte Cucco
The "Stone of Finale" is the only example in Liguria of material dating back to the Miocene. It covers much of the northern and western South of Finale in the form of a plateau crossed by the valleys of Pora, Aquila, and Rio Sciusa Cornei.
It's a tough limestone and compact white-pinkish color and results in impressive vertical walls that can reach 200 meters.
The Monte Cucco is characterized by the typical "Stone of Finale", stratified limestone which makes this area perfect for sports climbing.
