Blue Flag

Sustainable management of seaside resorts

The Blue Flag is an international award, established in 1987 the European Environment Year, which is awarded every year in 48 countries, initially only in Europe, more recently also outside Europe, with the support and participation of the two UN agencies: UNEP (United Nations environment Programme) and UNWTO (World Tourism Organization) with which the FEE has signed a global partnership protocol.
Blue Flag is a voluntary eco-label awarded to seaside resorts that meet criteria relating to sustainable land management.
main objective of this program is to address the local management policy of several coastal resorts, towards an environmental sustainability process.

Blue Flag 2019

Thanks to the good scores that the city of Finale Ligure got with respect to beaches and water quality, sewage treatment, waste management, energy efficiency, environmental sustainability initiatives, the Blue Flag recognition has been assigned also for the year 2019 to Finale Ligure beaches.
From a geomorphological point of view they are located in:

  • Spiaggia di Malpasso/Baia dei Saraceni

 

Blue Flag 2018

Finale Ligure beaches which showed all the good practices and qualities required by the criteria of assignment of Blue Flag recognition were the following, geomorphologically subdivided:

Blue Flag 2017

On May 8, 2017, the Blue Flag 2017 ceremony was held, during which the sea and the seaside offer of the Municipality of Finale Ligure are worthy of this important recognition for residents and guests, a sealing water seal and Of great quality of bathing service by FEE Italia (Foundation for Environmental Education).

The city of Finale Ligure was rewarded with the blue flag for the entire coast: the beaches that received the award, geomorphologically divided, are:

Blue Flag 2016

Even by 2016 the sea and the beach offer of Finale Ligure confirmed deserving of the Blue Flag: This is an important recognition for residents and visitors, a seal of water wholesomeness and high quality of bathing service by the FEE Italy (Foundation for Environmental Education) to the city of Finale Ligure, awarded the blue flag for the entire coast.
